Ticehurst
is a small, pictureque village on the Kent /Sussex borderjust off the
A21 approximately 20 miles north of Hastings and 20 miles south of Tonbridge
(where the dual carriageway runs out) and about 8 miles from Tunbridge
Wells. It can easily be reached by both train and road.
By rail:
Wadhurst
(four miles away) is the nearest rail station and there is a regular train
service from Charing Cross (precicely one hour to Wadhurst), Waterloo,
and London Bridge. From Wadhurst Station there is a regular bus service
to Ticehurst and taxis are available. Subject to availability, and prior
warning, trains may be met by bookshop staff.
By Road:
From
the North (map)
From the M25 and take the Sevenoaks turn off (junction 5)
to the A21. Continue on the A21 past Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells
until you reach the traffic lights at Flimwell just after a short
stretch of dual-carriageway). Turn right toward Ticehurst. Go through
Flimwell, past the Dale Hill Hotel (just after the 30mph limit), through
a short one way road system (we even have them in the country!) and continue
to a t-junction, here turn right and just past the village
square, opposite the Bell public house, turn left into Church
Street. The shop is on the left, just before the church - you will
find it difficult to miss us. Parking is usually possible close to the
shop, if you have problems ask in the shop and the staff will direct you
to the large public parking area nearby.
From
Tunbridge Wells:
take the A267 (Eastbourne Road), shortly after Frant turn
left onto the B2099 sign posted to Wadhurst. Continue
through Wadhurst to Ticehurst. Just before the Village Square, opposite
the Bell public house, turn right into Church Street.
